About Ted Kittila

Ted Kittila is the Managing Partner of Halloran Farkas + Kittila LLP, based in Wilmington, Delaware. His practice centers on complex corporate and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on the Delaware Court of Chancery, where he clerked from 2000 to 2001. He has appeared in every court in the State of Delaware and has handled multiple issues of first impression under Delaware's corporate and commercial laws.

Ted's career path is anything but a straight line. He started at Weil, Gotshal and Manges in New York City, then moved to Paul Hastings before returning to Delaware in 2007 to practice at Morris Nichols Arsht and Tunnell and later Elliott Greenleaf. In 2013 he went out on his own, founding Greenhill Law Group in Wilmington. Then, on January 1, 2017, he and two partners, Michael Halloran, former General Counsel of Bank of America, and Peter Farkas, a former DOJ antitrust attorney, launched HFK after hammering out their partnership terms at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland. The firm now has 14 team members and offices in Wilmington, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Jackson, Wyoming.

Ted grew up in Seaford, Delaware, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware's Honors Program, and earned a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Frankfurt, Germany. He then earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota. His international background shapes how he approaches every case. He represents hedge funds, sovereign governments like the Government of Nevis, Silicon Valley companies, and individual founders, all with the same belief that good lawyering means helping clients see the bigger picture, not just the next hearing date. His favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, and a copy sits on HFK's fireplace mantel as a daily reminder of why the work matters.

Ted is an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School teaching Trial Advocacy and serves on the Executive Committee of the Rodney Inn of Court, planning programming and mentoring younger attorneys. In 2025 he completed the Leadership in Law Firms program at Harvard Law School Executive Education. His pro bono work reflects his faith and his values, representing victims of the October 7 attack in Israel, a Muslim prisoner seeking Halal food, and a homeowner fined for flying the U.S. flag. Ted is an active member of Calvary Chapel of Delaware County, and he says his faith drives much of what he does in and out of the courtroom.

Every November, Ted builds a model train display in HFK's conference room as part of a local community holiday outreach program, drawing more than 100 visitors last year. He and his wife Anne-Laure, a native of Paris whom he met while studying abroad as an undergraduate, have two children, Alex and CC, and they call Delaware home. Ted's path, from Seaford to Frankfurt to Minneapolis to Manhattan and back to Wilmington, has shaped a lawyer who takes hard cases seriously and still believes the rule of law, imperfect as it is, is worth defending.
